What are the categories of ordinary plywood

Plywood is a kind of board like material consisting of three or more layers of wood, which is peeled into veneer or sliced into thin wood, and then glued with adhesive. In order to improve the anisotropic properties of natural wood as much as possible, and make the plywood uniform in properties and stable in shape, when making plywood, its veneer thickness, tree species, moisture content, grain direction, and manufacturing method should be the same. The number of layers of plywood must be an odd number, such as three, five, seven, and nine plywood, to balance various internal stresses.
Ordinary plywood can be divided into coniferous plywood and hardwood plywood according to tree species, and can be divided into one to four types of plywood according to the water resistance and durability of the adhesive layer.
(1) A type of plywood, namely, weather resistant and boiling water resistant plywood, has durability, resistance to boiling or steam treatment, and antibacterial properties. It is made of phenolic resin adhesive or other adhesives with equivalent properties. This product is suitable for aviation, shipping, vehicle box manufacturing, concrete formwork, or wood products that require good water resistance.
(2) Class II plywood, namely, water resistant plywood, can be soaked in cold water, can withstand short periods of hot water immersion, and has antibacterial and other characteristics, but is not resistant to boiling. It is made of urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive or other adhesives with equivalent properties. This product is suitable for carriage, ship, furniture manufacturing, interior decoration, and other indoor wood products.
(3) Three types of plywood, namely, moisture resistant plywood, are resistant to short periods of cold water immersion. They are made from low resin content urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive, blood adhesive, or adhesives with comparable properties, and are suitable for furniture manufacturing, packaging, and so on.
(4) The four types of plywood have a certain bonding strength, and are made of bean glue or other adhesives with equivalent properties. This product is mainly used for packaging and making general indoor wood products.
